Jun 30 2008, 10:34 AM EDT I am confused re the need for an artist statement for each entry. Can it be the same general artist statement for all 3 entries or do I need to write a separate one that addresses each entry? I am also confused re the requirement that the materials and techniques be listed in 50 CHARACTERS or less. This means letters to me. This does not seem possible and I wonder if you meants 50 WORDS instead? Perhaps this is a typo and you meant 500 characters? Could you please clarify this as soon as possible. Jul 1 2008, 10:55 AM EDT Sorry you had problems with the application process. Try to abbreviate as much as possible in your description and keep typing until it cuts you off, then you will know how many characters it will take. Some of the descriptions we have received are longer than 50 characters. Juried Art Serves set up the application form for us and there seems to be some inconsistency. The Society for Midwest Metalsmiths will work these problems out before our next exhibition. If you have not applied because of this problem, e-mail me at midwest.metalsmiths@gmail.com and I will make sure you can enter at the $40 rate even though it is after the deadline. Jul 1 2008, 11:32 AM EDT The artist's statement can be the same for all or different for each one. You can check a box to use the same on all. If your entered images are all from the same series of work, you may want to use the same artist's statement. If your work is from a different series or created in previous years, you may want to use a different artist's statement. The judges will view each images by itself with it's own artist's statement. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
